EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE
I make photographs which record, communicate and celebrate remarkable people and their work.
• Portraits and coverage of determined scientists, artists, media, business leaders, and people from all walks of life
• Onsite construction and manufacturing images
• Architectural images of buildings and related landscapes
• Panoramas that dynamically portray perspective and relationships

Communication Arts (CA), the premiere journal of commercial visual communications, featured my panorama of a snowstorm clearing over The Capitol in their 2010 Photography Annual. Photo District News (PDN), the leading trade publication of commercial photography, recognized my photograph shot for a Sprint billboard advertisement as an “advertising campaign from around the world that caught our eye” in 2008. PDN also recognized one of my Washington, DC panoramas for digital imaging excellence that year. My new panoramic work led to a feature article with a double-gatefold in the April 2008 Washingtonian magazine.

• Experienced media photographer for over 20 years producing effective photography that meets client needs in advertising, corporate, and editorial publications
• Keen awareness of my photographs’ role in the larger picture of the media production leading to images that work within multiple media uses (print design, web design, multimedia production, etc.). At all stages of the production process I work with clients as partners to assure that the images being produced meet the needs of the project
• Understand the time and criteria all team parties need to produce effective media so that my image-making fits efficiently in that process to achieve artistic, technical quality, and communication/marketing effectiveness

In addition to my commercial clients (see client list) my Documentary and Fine Art Prints have been displayed at venues including:
• Corcoran Gallery of Art
• Environmental Protection Agency
• Peninsula Fine Arts Center
• Smithsonian Museum of Natural History
• Smithsonian Museum of American History
• In the journal Aperture
